A foreign national (WNA) from Ghana who went on a rampage at the Kalibata City supermarket, Rajawati, Pancoran, South Jakarta, on Monday (April 21, 2025), is reported to have a valid passport and an active Limited Stay Permit Card (Kitas).

“His passport is still valid, and he holds a Kitas. The Kitas is also still valid,” said Oktinardo, Head of Information and Immigration Communication in South Jakarta, when contacted on Thursday (April 24, 2025).
However, Oktinardo could not confirm the foreign national’s stay permit expiration in Indonesia. He mentioned that they are still waiting for the police’s investigation results. “So, regarding the visa and passport, we haven’t gone too deep into it yet because the foreign national is still under police custody,” he said. So far, Oktinardo continued, no action has been taken against the foreign national because the suspect is still being examined by the South Jakarta Metro Police.
He assured that the Immigration office would impose a penalty according to the applicable laws. “So, we can conclude when the police inform us. Only then can we take action. But clearly, the person will be dealt with according to the existing laws and regulations,” he explained.
Previously, a video circulated showing a foreign national causing chaos at the Kalibata City Apartment supermarket on Monday (April 21, 2025). In the video, the suspect covered his body with oil to avoid being captured by security officers and damaged goods. People around him were seen trying to stop his actions by throwing various items.
As a result of the incident, two people were reported injured. The foreign national was also reported to have briefly held his child hostage to prevent being apprehended by the officers. The suspect is currently under police custody for further investigation.
